Michael S. Smith, Senior Quantitative Research Analyst

 

Michael specializes in research design, demographic methods and statistical analysis. At Jury Impact, his responsibilities include overseeing all quantitative research by incorporating robust sampling strategies and powerful statistical models that are in accordance with national academic standards for social research.
Michael serves on the American Mock Trial Association’s (AMTA) governing body, and he has more than six years experience conducting mock trials with attorneys and students.  Michael’s experience in politics and law, combined with his extensive statistical research background, afford him specialized insight when analyzing field research for Jury Impact clients.
Michael holds two degrees from the University of California, Irvine: a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in demographic and social analysis with an emphasis in geographic information systems and statistical research.  He has received numerous accolades for his unique research on small populations and his ability to present complex statistical models clearly and concisely.
